Flag Run: a Platform Game Around the World

A running and jumping adventure with a level for every country in the world. Flagoo runs through jungles, deserts, snowy forests and busy cities, jumps over gaps, bounces on springs, rides the clouds and hops on silly critters, collecting stars and the four pieces of each country's flag. At the end, the country's flag goes up the flagpole with fireworks, and a bonus question about the capital wins a third star. Every level has its own music. Use the arrow keys and Space, or the big buttons on a phone or tablet.

How to play

  1. Pick a world (a continent) and a country's level. The first three levels of each world are open; finishing a level opens the next one.
  2. Run with the arrow keys (or ◀ ▶) and jump with Space (or ⤒); hold it to jump higher. Grab stars, bump the flag boxes from below, bounce on springs, ride the clouds and hop on critters. Thorns, and bumping into a critter from the side, cost a heart.
  3. Reach the flagpole and the country's flag goes up. Answer the capital question for a bonus star: one star for finishing, one for all four flag pieces, one for the capital.

What kids learn

Each country's flag (put together piece by piece), its capital and a fact such as its national animal or a famous place, and the continents, since the levels are grouped by them. Plus timing, planning a jump and not giving up.

Tips for parents and teachers

Questions from grown-ups

Is it hard?

The first levels of each world are short and gentle; later ones are longer, with more to jump. A fall only puts Flagoo back just before the gap, and running out of hearts goes back to the last flag passed, never to a game over.

Is there violence?

No. Hopping on a critter makes it vanish in a puff of stars.

Is the music original?

Yes. Every level's tune is made by the game in its continent's style: no recordings and no national anthems.

Are there harder levels?

Yes. Pick Easy (5 hearts, small jumps, no fire), Normal or Hard (lava with leaping fireballs, storm clouds, crumbling stone and faster critters). Every level also hides two secrets, and a flag door leads to a short bonus run in a neighbouring country that adds its passport stamp.

Is progress saved?

Levels and stars are kept on this device only. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Does it work on a computer?

Yes: the arrow keys run, Space or the up arrow jumps, and P pauses.

Is it free? Does my child need an account?

Yes, it's free, with no sign-up, login, or download, and it never asks for personal details. It runs in the browser on phones, tablets, and computers.
