Continents and Oceans for Kids: World Map Game

Hear the name of a continent or an ocean, then find it on the world map and tap it. Explore the map first to hear a fact about each place. A wrong tap shows the right spot in green, so nobody gets stuck. Naming and locating the seven continents and five oceans is part of KS1 geography in England and a first world-map skill everywhere.

Tips for parents and teachers

Questions from grown-ups

What age is this for?

From about 5: it's the first map skill, before finding countries. Older kids can race through it as a warm-up.

Why seven continents but six in other games?

Antarctica is a continent, so this map shows it. Other Flagoo games are about countries, and no country is in Antarctica.

Where does one ocean end and another begin?

Oceans join without walls. On this map, open water belongs to the ocean most books give it; tap the middle of the ocean, not the coast.

Is Australia a continent?

Many books call the continent Australia; Flagoo uses Oceania, which is Australia with New Zealand and the Pacific islands.

Can it be played without sound?

Yes: the name is written above the map too.

Is it free? Does my child need an account?

Yes, it's free, with no sign-up, login, or download, and it never asks for personal details. It runs in the browser on phones, tablets, and computers.
