Which Country Is This? Map Quiz for Kids

A country lights up on the world map and you choose its name from four answers. It's the reverse of Find it on the Map: that one teaches where a country is, this one teaches what a shape on the map is called. Eight countries a round, Easy to Hard.

How to play

1. Choose Easy, Medium, or Hard and a continent (or all of them). Turn on Beat the Clock for a timer, or 2 Players to take turns on one device.
2. A country lights up on the world map. Tap its name from 4 choices.
3. Each round has 8 countries.

What kids learn

Where countries are on the map, their shapes, and their neighbours. It's the reverse of Find it on the Map, so the two games work well together.

Tips for parents and teachers

• Before answering, look at what's around the highlighted country: its neighbours and the ocean near it.
• Play it right after Find it on the Map: one asks where, the other asks what.
• Try Dino-Dig next, which uses country shapes as puzzle pieces.

How is this different from Find it on the Map?

Here the map shows the country and kids pick its name. In Find it on the Map, kids hear a name and tap the country on the map.

Are very small countries included?

Only countries big enough to see and tap on a phone screen are used, so the game stays fair.

Can two kids play?

Yes. Turn on 2 Players to take turns on one device.

Is this a country shapes quiz?

Yes. You see a country's shape and position on the world map and pick its name.

Does it work on a phone?

Yes, and you can zoom the map with the + and − buttons or by pinching.
