Flagoo (flagoo.fun) is made for children, so it collects as little as possible. Every game can be played without an account and without giving a name, email address or any other personal details. This page explains what is stored, where, and why.

Flagoo uses your browser's local storage to remember settings and progress on this device: language, light or dark theme, sound on or off, music on or off, Calm mode (no confetti or flashing), passport stamps, Daily Challenge days, flags saved in Flag Creator, World Adventure progress, flags a child found tricky, Flag Cutter best scores, Flag Run levels and stars, Flag Hunter levels, stars and best scores, and whether this device has already rated Flagoo. None of it leaves the device unless you use one of the features below. Clearing the site's data in your browser deletes it. To let games run without internet, the browser also keeps a copy of Flagoo's own game files and flag pictures (no personal data), more of them if a grown-up taps “Play offline”; clearing the site's data removes these too. It also keeps the day of the last visit, so Flagoo the buddy can say “welcome back”. For the current visit only, it also notes whether the visit was already counted, whether the rating question was closed, and whether the page just reloaded itself to get a newer version of Flagoo; that is forgotten when the tab is closed. If the “Flagoo on your home screen” card on the home page is closed, the time is kept so the card waits 7 days before showing again.
Flagoo is hosted by Netlify. A few optional features store small amounts of data there:
To stop misuse, ratings and travel codes use a salted, one-way scramble (hash) of the IP address that changes every day or hour. It can't be turned back into an IP address or linked across days. Like every web host, Netlify also keeps short-lived server logs for security.
We use Google Analytics 4 to count page views and see which games are played, so we know what to improve. Flagoo also sends it a few anonymous game events: a round or level started or finished (with the game, the level, the score and the stars), the Daily Challenge done, the install or share button tapped, and a class challenge made. They never include a name, a nickname or anything a child types. It sets cookies and receives your IP address and basic device information; Google says Analytics 4 doesn't log or store IP addresses. We have turned off Google Signals and ad personalisation, so this data isn't used for advertising or linked to Google accounts. You can opt out with Google's browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, or by blocking cookies.
Flagoo may show ads from Google AdSense to help cover its costs. When ads are shown, every ad request is marked as child-directed and non-personalised, so Google does not use personalised advertising or remarketing and limits the data it collects, as it requires for children's sites. Ads are placed away from game buttons. Google explains how it uses data from sites that show its ads at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
As with any website, these services receive your IP address and browser details when your browser loads them.
Flagoo is made for children under 13. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children beyond what is described on this page, and no feature needs it. The only places a child could type a name are Flag Creator's optional name and the 2-player name boxes; 2-player names are never saved or sent anywhere. Grown-ups can also type team names in the Quiz Show and a class name on the printable class certificate; these stay on the page and are never saved or sent either. Our contact email is for grown-ups only. If you think a child has sent us personal information, tell us and we will delete it.
You can delete everything Flagoo keeps on a device by clearing the site's data in your browser settings. To delete a shared flag, a travel code's saved trip or a contact message, send us the link or the code through the contact page. Depending on where you live (for example under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or US state laws), you may have the right to see, correct or delete data about you or your child; ask through the contact page and we will reply within 30 days.
If Flagoo changes how it handles data, this page and the date at the top will be updated. For any privacy question or request, email flagoo.fun@gmail.com with “Privacy” in the subject.
